The record is a raise of the fist for protest punk and an easily moshable hodgepodge of folk-punk influences. At times it’s easy to hear Out Of System Transfer’s affinity for Ghost Mice and at other times if you listen closely enough you can hear Pat The Bunny shining through. But all throughout the 15-track album Sternberg’s passion for traditional folk tunes holds it all together.
— Jeff Schaer Moses, Dying Scene
The latest release from Brooklyn’s great Mama Coco’s collective is a different flavor, politicized folk punk that has shades of Erik Petersen’s Mischief Brew, Mojo Nixon, Bobby Joe Ebola and The Children McNuggets and the political satire of classic NY groups like The Fugs, Holy Modal Rounders and David Peel and The Lower East Side. Propelled by a busker’s gallop of acoustic guitar, cracking snare drum and gleeful horns, this is the type of snot nosed protest music that you used to find in Washington Square and Tompkins before the neighborhood was sucked of all it’s counter cultural elements.
— Jamie Frey, Jersey Beat

Carrying the banner of righteous weirdness, here comes Out of System Transfer, the city’s much-needed gonzo anti-folk punk rock radical leftist hootenanny. Their funny and fierce tunes blend the rage of Reagan-era punks like Dead Kennedys and Mojo Nixon with the rootsy feel and harmonies of acts like the Carter Family and Pete Seeger. With unparalleled energy, uncompromising radical politics, and an insatiable thirst for fun, these four anarchofolk weirdos share one primary main objective: to rock your entire ass off.
